The Tyker (5-6) program is intended to create a fun, learning environment to develop basic skills and an enjoyment of the game of lacrosse.  The girls play with a regulation girls "crosse" or stick and ball to develop the proper feel and technique with their first exposure to lacrosse.  Additional equipment needed includes protective eyewear, a mouth guard, and proper footwear (cleats) for a grass field.  The focus of the prgram is instruction and fun.  The girls are divided into teams and play controlled games that are 7 vs. 7 on a small field with small goals and no goalies.  The coaches are on the field with the girls providing instruction and teaching points.

The program for 2008 will be held at the fields at Mays Chapel and begins the middle of March.  The schedule for the regular season is Monday and Wednesday evenings at Mays Chapel from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.  The season ends with a Round Robin tournament.

To be eligible to participate in the Tyker 5-6 division for the Spring 2008 season, a player must be 5 on or before September 1st, 2007.
